SEASONS OF LIFE : Foraging and Fermenting Bambooshoot during Ceasefire
This film is a part of Dr. Kikon’s research work on fermentation where she extends the notions of solidarity and bonding through sharing and eating together. It follows Tsumungi, Pithunglo and Yanchano, as they labour to forage and ferment tender bambooshoot, a food item cherished across households of Himalayan communities in South Asia. This documentary traces its journey from forests to kitchens and our plates.
